David has been diving and snorkeling for over 20 years. Growing up on the Great Barrier Reef instilled a love of the underwater. A move to Tassie 10 years ago brought a whole new dimension to getting in the water –Abalone hunting. When not scraping Abalone of the bottom of the sea or teaching people how to eat Abalone, David is a researcher at the University of Tasmania.
Daniel is our extreme adventure sports guru. Whether it is hardcore white water kayaking, surf lifesaving, epic bushwalking or freedive spear fishing, if it is Tassie, fun and adventure Daniel is into it. In Daniel’s spare time he is a high school English, History and Outdoor Education teacher. He also cooks a very good Abalone Ceviche!
Kaori is relatively new to Abalone diving, as it is very difficult to dive for Abalone in Japan. However on her third day in Tasmania she was catching and cooking Abalone and has been so ever since. Kaori has a passion for Abalone diving and eating, Tasmania and all things Australian. Kaori is our Japanese translator, cooking advisor and Japanese connection. When not getting in and out of a wetsuit, Kaori is a Japanese language teacher, chef and works in marketing.
